EOP

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides assistance to first-generation, limited-income undergraduate students in the following areas of support: academic, career, financial, professional, and personal growth.

ADVISING

EOP Student Success Advisors support students by offering intentional and holistic support services as well as multifaceted community engagement.
  • Students are paired with an EOP Advisor beginning their first semester at SJSU until they complete their undergraduate degree
  • EOP advising approaches students through an equity-based lens with
an understanding of their academic, social, and professional needs

PAGES

Personal and Academic Growth Experiences (PAGEs) support students' growth and sense of belonging by connecting them to EOP/SJSU services and resources.
  • Students engaged in their education develop the skills necessary to achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals

SUMMER BRIDGE (SB)

Summer Bridge is the first opportunity for new first-time, first-year (FTFY) EOP students to close the gap between high school and college.
  • Through intentional events and activities students develop the competencies and confidence they need to begin their journeys at SJSU
  • Students will engage in and practice skills to help them navigate their college experiences and campus resources while building a support network and meaningful relationships with other members of the EOP community

MENTORING

EOP students are empowered through meticulously designed bi-weekly meetings with trained peer mentors who provide motivation, accountability, engagement with campus, assistance with a "college road map," and a sense of community.
  • EOP pairs new and continuing students in the following programs: New Student Mentoring (NSM), I Can/I Will (ICIW), and Academic Coaching for Educational Success (ACES)
