Registration

SJSU students can register for Summer Session classes in advance using MySJSU. Log into your MySJSU to check your registration appointment. Before enrolling in a class, students must meet any required course prerequisites. If you missed the advance web registration period, you may register online at MySJSU on the first day of class with a permission number(s).

The registration period for Summer Session will close on June 10 for Session One and July 15 for Session Two.

Beginning June 11 for Session One and July 16 for Session Two, all students must use a Late Enrollment Petition form with the instructor, department chair, and PaCE Associate Dean's signatures to register. 

Other Types of Students

 
 
  • A Wait List Student

    The waitlist shall be prioritized for graduating seniors who have a graduation application on file for summer and fall 2024; and spring 2024.

    If you have been placed on the waitlist, check your MySJSU periodically to check your status. After you are enrolled, see calendar for payment deadline.

  • A Student with a Disability

    Students with disabilities needing support services for classes (such as interpreting, test accommodations or note-taking) should contact the Accessible Education Center. You can call the Accessible Education Center at 408-924-6000, e-mail aec-info@sjsu.edu or visit www.sjsu.edu/aec.

  • Repeating a Class

    You may enroll online through your MySJSU on April 10. Starting April 23, you must email the Office of the Registrar at registrar@sjsu.edu with your name, ID#, 5-digit class number, subject, course number, and section number for enrollment. Beginning on the first day of summer instruction, a permission number is needed.     Repeating for the Second Time or More
    If you are repeating a class more than twice, starting April 10, submit the repeat a course more than 2 times petition. Be sure to follow all instructions.

  • A SJSU Graduate Student

    Graduate students enrolled in an SJSU graduate program can register for summer courses using their MySJSU account. Log into your MySJSU to check your registration appointment. Before enrolling in a class, check to make sure you meet any required course prerequisites.

A Non-SJSU Student or A Student in Disqualified Status

Non-SJSU students or disqualified students can enroll in SJSU courses through Open University. For more details on the registration process, please visit the Open University website.


How to Drop


  • Step 1

    Refer to the calendar and identify which drop method, what signatures are required, and whether an academic withdrawal penalty applies. Leaving a course without authorization will result in a WU (F) grade.

  • Step 2

    Drop class via MySJSU by the drop deadline. After the drop deadline, complete the petition for course drop. For instructions and guidelines for drop petitions, visit the Undergraduate Education Office website or email undergraduate-education@sjsu.edu. Once the petition has been submitted, it will be routed to for signatures. 

  • Step 3

    Financial petition can only be processed when an official drop has been displayed on your MySJSU account. Complete the Financial Petition Form and submit it to pacefinancialpetition@sjsu.edu along with any supporting documents.

    Our Finance Department will review your request and follow up with you as needed.
