Department of Education
The Department of Education has created a grant program known as the Hispanic-Serving Institution, HSI for short. This grant is to fund programs that will help Hispanic and Low-Income Students with their education. HSI consists of three grant divisions:
- Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI)
- Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA)
- Hispanic-Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and Articulation (HSI STEM)
SJSU is part of the Hispanic-Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and Articulation (HSI STEM) division.
