Spring Weeks of Welcome (WOW) – a month-long celebration packed with 80+ exciting events happening all across SJSU, open to ALL currently enrolled students!
Whether you’re brand new to SJSU or a returning Spartan, WOW is your chance to get connected, make new friends, discover campus resources, and start the semester strong.
You might hear people call it “WOW” – and it’s just that: fun, energizing, and unforgettable. Each event is designed to help you thrive both inside and outside the classroom. So mark your calendar, bring your Spartan spirit, and get ready for a whole lot of WOW!

Starting a new semester can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone! Stop by Student Involvement's "Ask Me" Table located on 7th Street Plaza for friendly, helpful guidance from fellow students and staff. Whether you're trying to find a classroom, looking for a resource, or just have a quick question, we've got answers.

Start your semester with energy, excitement, and connection at the Weeks of Welcome Kick-Off! Join us at 7th Street Plaza for a vibrant, street festival-style event where campus resources meet student celebration.

What is Weeks of Welcome?
WOW is a campus-wide celebration powered by the Spartan community!
Over 30 campus offices and departments come together to bring you WOW – a jam-packed series of events, activities, and resources during the first 5–6 weeks of every semester.
The goal? To give new and returning students a warm Spartan welcome and help you settle into life at SJSU. From finding your community to discovering campus resources, WOW is here to make your transition smooth, fun, and full of opportunities.

When is Weeks of Welcome?
WOW kicks off the new academic year with a bang, running from Wednesday, August 20 to Friday, September 19.
Do I have to be on campus for Weeks of Welcome?
Whether you’re on campus, tuning in from home, or somewhere in between, there’s a WOW event for you. With in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences, everyone can join the fun — no matter where you're living!
What is the Sammy App?
The San Jose State University app, also known as the Sammy App, brings services to your fingertips and enables you to connect with classmates and friends. Access events, calendars, contacts, maps and more! Stay organized with the timetable function, where you can save events, classes and assignments.
We highly recommend that all SJSU students download the Sammy app - it's a great way to connect with other students and learn about events and resources!
Is Weeks of Welcome required?
No, although it is encouraged! Attending WOW events is the best way to meet people and become better acquainted with campus and university resources. Weeks of Welcome features key events designed to meet the diverse interests of our students. Taking full advantage of WOW will help you get the best start at San Jose State University!
