Senate Committee Vacancies

Calling all faculty and staff: SJSU’s Academic Senate needs your service on its committees!

Current vacancies

The Committee on Committees is currently preparing to fill vacant Senate seats for the 2026-2027 AY. Current Academic Senators have first preference on vacant seats. Once all Senators are seated, vacant seats on committees will be filled by College/Unit by eligible faculty and staff. Please check back in mid April for the updated Senate committee vacancy spreadsheet if you are not a current or newly-elected Senator and you wish to serve on a committee during the 2026-2027 AY. Eligibility requirements

The Senate committee vacancy spreadsheet provides the eligibility requirements for each seat, including role (e.g. faculty, staff, Academic Senator), college/unit, meeting dates & times, etc. 

Note that any seats that remain unfilled after August 25, 2026 will be converted to Faculty-at-Large seats with 1-year terms; applications submitted by any faculty members will be considered for these seats.

You can apply for any seats that match your role (faculty, staff), meeting availability, and interests.

If you are a faculty member (Bargaining Unit 3) applying for faculty seats, use this faculty application form.

If you are a staff member (SSP III, SSP IV, Non-Unit 3, Non-MPP, Non-SSP staff members) applying for staff seats, use this staff application form.
