Alternative Testing Center Information
Spring 2024 Information
Masks are recommended for at-risk individuals in indoor spaces around campus and are required in the Wellness Center.
Our campus mask status can be found at www.sjsu.edu/healthadvisories.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m.
(excluding university holidays [pdf])
Spring 2024 Reader & Scribing:
If you are prescribed a reader and/or a scribe, make sure to select the appropriate accommodations when completing each Test Accommodation Form in MyAEC.

Main Location- Alternative Testing Center - Industrial Studies (IS) 223
*Always remember to check your email reminders for exam approval and location information
as other locations may be used as needed during peak periods (ex: midterms, finals).

Exam Scheduling
Students should meet with instructors early each semester to discuss potential academic conflicts and determine appropriate arrangements. Instructors will make arrangements according to AEC policies. Instructors may choose to administer testing accommodations themselves using AEC-approved alternatives.
Academic conflicts include:
- Class times that start/end outside AEC Testing’s hours
- Other classes that would overlap with a student’s prescribed extended time
To schedule accommodated in-person exams, students must follow the instructions outlined in our Testing Accommodations Flowchart. [pdf]
Students should read AEC’s Testing FAQs thoroughly each semester to ensure they understand how to schedule exams, communicate with faculty, address scheduling conflicts, and show up to exams prepared.
