MS, Statistics, Machine Learning
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a MS in Statistics with a Specialization in Machine Learning. Machine learning is a subset application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Develop advanced skills in probability and statistics, and programming.
- Develop machine-learning algorithms that focus on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it to learn for itself.
This program specialization is designed for students who wish to become practicing statisticians in business, government or industry, with a focus on developing machine-learning algorithms.
