Karen LaRocque
Research Data Scientist
Karen did her undergrad at Bowdoin College, where she majored in Psychology & Computer
Science. After working for several years as a research assistant, Karen got her MS
in Statistics and PhD in Psychology from Stanford University, where she studied how
the brain forms and retrieves memories. Karen worked as a data science consultant
for several small start-ups, and is currently a data scientist at Facebook. At Facebook,
Karen has worked on building systems to detect and remediate spam and automation on
Instagram, and on forecasting, modeling, and optimizing the infrastructure that supports
messaging across the Facebook family of apps.
