An Immersive Experience

The SJSU Summer Brass Institute faculty bring a wealth of performing experience, both domestic and international. They are all master performers and master teachers, offering insights and guidance to enhance their students’ performance. Students will benefit from an accelerated learning program to help them arrive back at school in the fall more prepared for their musical endeavors.

The 2024 program will offer a variety of musical experiences including the following:

Daily group warm-up with facultyDaily Brass Ensemble led by Tom HornigDaily Masterclasses with facultyChamber Music TBD - Brass Quintet, or like instrument trios/quartets

Daily Masterclass topics may include:

Honor Band preparation, improving practice habits, high and low register development

Thomas is a regular member of the California Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Berkeley Symphony,
and Modesto Symphony. Being a freelance musician provides the opportunity for a wide variety of
performance genres.
