Completing an Equivalency Petition

To complete an equivalency petition for a College of Science course, please click the Department link/s below for the course for which you are seeking equivalency. The petition links will take you to a DocuSign petition. Incomplete petitions will not be processed. Once your petition has been reviewed a DocuSign copy is sent to you. You can access the petition through your DocuSign account. 

Equivalency petitions are for students seeking evaluation of course equivalency for courses offered in the following College of Science departments:

Biological Sciences
Chemistry
Computer Science
Geology
Mathematics and Statistics
Meteorology and Climate Science
Physics and Astronomy

Students must use SJSU credentials to access the DocuSign petition.

It will take 4-6 weeks to process equivalency form petitions after the equivalency form and supporting documentation have been received. Incomplete petitions without the appropriate required documentation will not be processed.
