• Canvas Pronouns 

  • Pronouns are used in language whenever we refer to ourselves or to other people. Some of the examples are: 

    - He/Him/His for someone who might identify as male.

    - She/Her/Hers for someone who might identify as female.

    - They/Them/Their for someone who might not identify themselves strictly as male or female, these pronouns are considered ‘gender neutral’.

    Follow these simple steps to add pronoun to your profile.

• Canvas Display Names

  • Canvas Display Names appear in activities that are participated in within a Canvas course. Students have the ability to adjust their Display Name to their own personal preference. To adjust your Display Name, complete the following steps:

    1. Log into MySJSU.
    2. Edit your preferred name in your MySJSU profile.
    3. The systems update daily, so your preferred name will then appear automatically as your Canvas Display Name within 24 hours.

  • To view the Canvas Course Index, complete the following steps:

    1. Click on Courses on the left navigation menu.
    2. Click on the All Courses link.
    3. Click on the Browse More Courses Button.
