Taking online classes requires some basic equipment needs (wifi, computer) and learning to use common apps (like video conferencing, online discussion boards, learning management systems). Get the basics and help with this part of online learning using the links below. You can also download software you may need for certain classes.
Wifi and Cell Phone Resources
If you or someone in your household is low-income, you may be eligible for a free cell phone with unlimited minutes, text and wifi-access. Free Wi-Fi access is available on campus in various locations, and in the South Campus Park and Ride lot (located at S. 7th Street between Humboldt and Alma Streets).
- Budget Mobile Program
- Reduced Cost Internet Program for Qualifying Families
- Eduroam: Students can also use the Eduroam network to access Wi-Fi at other participating campuses, including all CSU campuses.
Computer Equipment Resources
Need a laptop? Webcam? Specialized equipment? SJSU has a number of equipment resources available for students to check out.
SJSU provides on-campus study spaces for students, to the extent that state and county public health orders allow. Visit the Health Advisories website for the latest updates. If you live with family or roommates, you may need to work out a schedule for sharing limited space, or find a place to study outside or at another location.
