BSDS Degree Program Description
The Data Science B.S., provides students with in-depth technical knowledge, opportunity to apply that knowledge in a field of their choice, and knowledge of the social and human contexts and ethical ramifications of how data is collected, analyzed, and used. It features a computing-based curriculum and instructs students in the theory and practice of data management, machine learning, and computing analysis of data-centered problems. This combination puts graduates in an advantageous position to contribute to the development of solutions to a variety of urgent problems, such as transforming industry for the new digital age, enhancing educational learning, and assisting communities in disaster recovery. Opportunities for employment include working with economic data, with climate change data or with pharmaceutical data.
