Dear Colleagues,
As you may be aware, there is an ongoing work stoppage at the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), which is impacting public transit service throughout the region. Many members of our campus community, including students, rely on VTA for transportation to and from campus.
In addition, from March 12 to March 22, several downtown streets near campus will be closed due to the NVIDIA GTC event, further complicating commutes. Closures will affect key roads including San Carlos St., Market St., Park Ave., and Viola Ave., with additional temporary closures at Market St. and San Carlos St. during scheduled event showcases. We recognize that this disruption may create challenges for students in attending class, arriving on time, or meeting in-person commitments. I encourage you to be mindful of these impacts and to offer reasonable flexibility where possible.
Your support in helping students and colleagues manage their academic responsibilities during this period is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued dedication to student success as well as for the understanding you extend to colleagues who also are navigating the disruption.
Sincerely,
Vin
