Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for all the submitted nominations for the dean search committee. The election process has concluded and I am pleased to announce the membership of the Dean Search Committee for the College of Information, Data, and Society. The search committee is composed of representatives from the faculty, staff, student, and administrator/community, to allow for a diverse perspective. These members have been selected in accordance with university policy S16-8, Selection and Review of Administrators:

  • Hsuanwei (Michelle) Chen, Associate Professor, School of Information
  • Heather Lattimer, Dean, Lurie College of Education
  • Geoffrey Liu, Professor, School of Information
  • Kristina Luna, Administrative Services Specialist, School of Information
  • Linda Main, Associate Director, School of Information
  • Christina Mune, Associate Dean, Innovation & Resource Management, University Library
  • Kelly Rausch, Graduate Student, Library & Information Science
  • Kristen Rebman, Professor, School of Information
  • Simon Shim, Chair, Applied Data Science

Geoffrey Liu will serve as chair of the search committee and he will work closely with the executive search firm, Isaacson, Miller, to help bring in the best pool of candidates for the next dean. There will be an opportunity in the coming weeks for all members of the college to provide input in the selection of the new dean. You can stay up to date on the search process by visiting the Leadership Search page.

Please note that finalists for the position will visit campus in person later this semester, so we hope that everyone can turn out for their presentations and visit as we seek to recruit the most outstanding candidates possible. We will provide as much advance notice on the schedule as possible.

Thank you,
Vin
