JMC: A Place to Learn by Doing
Located at Dwight Bentel Hall, The School of Journalism and Mass Communications prepares future media professionals in all forms of global communications for responsible outreach and inclusion of all people. The School equips students to excel in Advertising, Journalism, and Public Relations by teaching professional skills and advanced information technologies, by developing the capacity for critical and original thinking, and fostering creativity and a passion for communications. We further this mission with our commitment to diversity. We believe the best way to absorb information is to experience media communications in the real world. Nothing is better than first-hand application of technique and tools. This is the essence of our motto “Learn by Doing”. We encourage you to learn by doing through every experience you have here. JMC offers countless opportunities to discover your passion, strengthen your skills and expand your world-view.
