Director of International House
Leann has been working at the International House since the early ‘90’s. She is married, and has two wonderful children who are attending university as Graduate and Undergraduate students. She loves travel, reading, gardening, and getting to know people from all parts of the world. Leann earned a Master's Degree in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS, formerly known as the Monterey Institute of International Studies) and a Bachelor's Degree in International Policy and Languages from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Our resident staff consists of one Head Resident and six Resident Advisors (RAs). These individuals are here to help you adjust to life in San José and to plan fun activities for you. They are students too, and understand your busy lifestyle. Our team is here to provide you a comfortable, enriching experience at the International House.
Joey Medina, Head Resident
Joey is from the Central Valley. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Social Interaction with a minor in Chicanx studies. Joey is a graduate student at San Jose State University (SJSU), pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance. Joey is known for his outgoing personality. He loves to explore, listen to music, try new food, and get to know others and their story.
Allison Scott, Resident Advisor
Allison is a third-year psychology student. She is from Lakeport, CA and has never traveled outside the United States. She loves fashion, reading, and astrology! She also loves being outdoors and trying new things.
Harkiret Singh, Resident Advisor
I’m Harkiret, people usually refer to me as Kiret. I’m an international student from Malaysia, majoring in Electrical engineering. I love all types of music and appreciate good food. It’s my first time being an RA and I’m excited! Definitely looking forward to an amazing semester at the I-House.
Lola Salinas, Resident Advisor
Lola is from Southern California and currently lives in Burbank CA. She is a nutrition major at the moment but is hoping to switch into a business concentration in the upcoming semester. She has two cats and enjoys reading on her free time. If she's not at the gym, she is most likely out getting a cup of coffee. She is looking forward to meeting everyone and is very excited about this upcoming school year.
Paul Soriano, Resident Advisor
Paul is a third-year Software Engineering major. He is the first in his family to attend an American college. When he is not coding, he likes to cook, sing, watch anime or scroll through TikTok and Twitter. He is interested in learning new languages. He hopes to learn more from this experience.
Julia Peccin, Alternate RA
Julia is a third year Business Analytics student. She is interested in fashion, fitness, yoga, and music. Her favorite music genres are Alternate R&B and Rap. In her free time, Julia enjoys going out with friends, soaking up some sun, and trying out new foods. Her favorite restaurants in the area are Taurinos (Brazilian steakhouse) and Little Madfish (sushi). Julia is an Alternate RA with the International House team. She’s looking forward to creating lasting memories and friendships.
Krishnaa Santyanaryana, Alternate RA
Krishnaa is from Bangalore, India. He is a graduate student at San Jose State University, pursuing a Masters degree in Software Engineering. He is always curious about technology that can make a difference. He likes to explore places around and prefers to go on hikes. This being his first experience with international housing he is looking forward to a wide cultural exposure.
Akash Aggarwal, Network Administrator
Akash was born in New Delhi, India. He did his undergraduate from Delhi Technological University in Electrical Engineering. He is currently pursuing Masters in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University. He loves travelling, trekking, reading books ,and is interested in theatre as well. He has always been perceptive and eager to learn new things in life.
Residents work in the I-House Office Monday to Friday greeting visitors, responding
to e-mails, undertaking database entries, creating flyers, helping out in other creative
endeavors, and providing services to residents such as vacuum and key check-out,
and helping us make our residents feel at home.
