Virtual Private Network (VPN)
VPN allows users outside of the SJSU network access to restricted resources (like file shares, servers, and desktops) on the SJSU network, as if they are physically located on the SJSU campus network behind secured firewalls.
If you connect to the VPN service from off campus, you will have identical access to your systems just as you do with wired or wireless connections to the SJSU network.
Who has access
- Faculty
- Staff
- Students
How to use VPN
Download the VPN Client
- Go to the VPN website
- Select the "Group" item that matches your role at SJSU
- Sign in with your SJSU ID and password
- Follow the on-screen instructions for your device and browser
Connect to SJSU-VPN
The connection process is slightly different for students than for faculty/staff. It is also different if you use MacOS than if you use Microsoft Windows.
