Course Classifications - CS Numbers

Courses that are classified as Supervision Courses have a classification (or CS Number) that begins with "S," where workload credit is earned per student enrollment (WTU per Student) independent of the course’s unit value. The average amount of faculty time per student includes faculty preparation, evaluation, travel, and liaison with agencies when necessary. This category of courses involves direct one-on-one faculty supervision of students for student teaching, field work experience, studio instruction, thesis and projects by arrangement. The classification for Supervision courses is required on the Additional Employment form. Refer to the following table for the WTUs per Student value for each S-Classification:
